My Current Quilting Projects

Wow a post two days in a  row! Will wonders never cease!! I’ve wanted to get back in the swing of blogging, so here goes!

I decided to do short posts, so I’ll start with the projects laying about my sewing room.

Here is a small quilt/ table topper than is for friends who recently finished their new log home. Hence the log cabin blocks.

-

I decided to do scrappy meandering flying geese for the borders, and you know me - no pattern! A bit of a challenge, but I’m pleased with the result! I’m starting with rectangles, so there are small hst left over. They have become my current leader/ender project.

I guess I’m on a log cabin binge! I’ve wanted to make a scrappy log cabin quilt, so for the past year or so, I’ve diligently cut my scraps into 1 1/2” strips. It became the stitching project for “Myrtle” - my 1911 Singer Treadle Machine. To date I’ve pieced 72 blocks and I’ve included more than 200 different fabrics! Sewing on Myrtle has truly become therapy for me!

Several years ago I purchased vintage quilt blocks from various places and have purposed to stitch them into small quilts. I had hoped to have these two blue ones quilted and displayed for my January decor, but alas, where does the time go!! All I lack on one is stitching down the binding and the other is ready to be basted and quilted.

One other project is just in the planning stage. I leave the fabric out on the table where I can “think about it” while I’m working on other projects! Surely someone else does that too!!

So I’ll leave you for now:

I’m So Grateful!

Over the past few years I’ve chosen a “Word For The Year” and usually it is a characteristic that I want to work on for myself. But this year I just want to share how I feel:

I have so very much for which to be:

Enchanting Rose Tea Cup Exchange

Finally, I’m sitting down and making time to post about Stephanie’s lastest Tea Cup Exchange! She blogs over at The Enchanting Rose and it is always a treat to visit her!

This year Stephanie paired me with a friend!! It was such a blessing to receive such a wonderful box of goodies from Kris who recently moved from Utah to Oregon and blogs over at Lavender Quilts

Here’s my goodies and I can now say that I have a new favorite tea!! It’s almost gone and can’t wait to order some more!

Little did Kris know,  it I Love blue dishes! And this one fits right in with my collection!

I sent goodies to a new friend, Kitty who is such a dear! She posts every Monday with a recipe and I can hardly wait to read her weekly post! (Though it has been difficult for me as we have been very busy and I really haven’t read many blogs!) LOL!!

Visit Kitty  here and view all her goodies!

Best go for now! Hope this finds each of you doing well!

Blessings and hugs!!

"Palmateer Point"aka "Saddle Point"

Good morning! We are truly having autumn this morning! Actually wore jeans, sweater and vest to do chores! Woohoo! Love the cooler weather!!

I did finish up Lori's SAL this morning except for sewing down the binding.  This was a fun one to do and I really like the results!!

Mostly crosshatching and FMQ outlining,  but I did add some feathers in the muslin.

I named mine "Saddle Point" for the promontory of the Brady Mountains that we view to our west.

Hope this finds all well for each of you!!

Blessings and Hugs!

A Full Fledged Finish!

Gracen knew her quilt was coming, and I finished it up just in time for her fifth birthday! But I added some more little goodies, too!

Her mama pieced the top and I quilted it with an all-over design of vining whimsical flowers and leaves. I think the fabrics are so pretty and fun, and though it was a big quilt (90"x100"), I never tired of stitching!

The backing was such a perfect compliment! Mama did a good job!

I added coordinating pillow cases.

...and a doll quilt and pillow for new Sophia doll!

The Last Wedding Photos

Our  four children - grown of course!

Our family minus the baby - he was taking a nap during the photo session and everyone knows that you don't wake the baby!
